We built SamePoints for the moment a loyal customer waits — while you check another system.

SamePoints is loyalty infrastructure for merchants who run a Shopify store and a Square counter — and want those customers to feel recognised, not confused.

It started at a Melbourne pet shop

Pikapet began online on Shopify. When a physical store opened — Square was the natural POS in Australia before Shopify POS was everywhere — inventory apps could sync stock, but nothing synced loyalty points.

In-store customers kept asking: “Do you have a membership?” The honest answer was too often “Only on our website.” People left. Paid Square Loyalty subscriptions and Shopify-only loyalty apps each lived in their own world — still no single balance.

The first working version was a home-grown stack: Docker, n8n, and Postgres — webhooks from Shopify and Square, points written to Shopify customer metafields, gift cards at redemption threshold. In 2026 that became SamePoints, the app you see today — still running daily at Pikapet.

SamePoints exists so the next customer at the counter hears: “Yes — you have points here and online.”

We are not trying to replace your brand experience. We connect the plumbing so points accrue in real time, refunds reverse fairly, and gift cards show up when you said they would — on the storefront and in the wallet your theme can display.

Built for Pikapet, shaped by their shop-floor brief

Pikapet is a premium pet retailer in Melbourne — curated pet essentials online and at QV Centre. SamePoints was commissioned to solve their omnichannel loyalty gap: earn in-store and online, one balance, refunds handled fairly, redemption that works on Shopify checkout.

On busy weekends someone would ask if we had a membership — and we had to say it only counted on the website. You could see their face drop. Now we take their mobile at the till and it's the same balance online. That's what we opened the shop for.

Who is behind SamePoints

SamePoints is built and operated from Australia by Lance. The product grew out of solving loyalty for Pikapet first — then opening the same plumbing to other Shopify + Square sellers.

We are intentionally focused: Shopify plus Square, points plus gift cards, clarity over feature sprawl. We would rather do one job completely for omnichannel sellers than pretend to be everything for everyone.

Based in Australia, building for Shopify merchants worldwide — online first, optional Square in-store sync.
